Papanasam
Papanasam is a holy place located near the banks of Thambiraparini River with beautiful waterfalls, river & mountain range.Its also a famous district spot in the district of Tirunelveli in Tamilnadu with beautiful attractions & a peaceful environment.

Papanasam Dam
This dam is located around 15 Kms from Papanasam town. We have to take Auto to reach the place and the driver has charged Rs.550 for the combined visit of Agastyhiyar Falls- Suryan Kovil and Papanasam Dam. Road to reach is scenic. You have to walk about 15-20 mins. to reach the dam from the parking place. The Dam had not much water. Walking on the actual dam is not allowed. There is nothing to do near dam except walking around for 10-15 mins. Not worth of visiting the place by paying Rs.550/- for Auto. I heard there is also limited public transport (bus) available to dam from Papnasam. .

A must place to enjoy when visiting Tirunelveli
Just remove the cloths and with minimal attire drench oneself by standing under the waterfall. Come out with freshness and all the body ache gone.

The nature of waterfall

This is one of the best places that are in Tirunelveli area.this waterfall is said be have a good medicinal effect and the name came from a famous person agastjiyar who lived in the old traditional era of tamilnadu.

Awesome Falls. But there is no public transport.
Good Falls. But more crowed. Nice places and scenic places. To reach this place from Papanasam Temple, auto fare is 80 to 100 Rupees. Return fare is also high. There is no public transport. Tamil Nadu government should take necessary action. Don't go public holidays. Go with your own vehicle in week days. Nice place.

Beautiful

With the heavy force of water, this waterfall is really awesome. There is water almost heavy to ease off our pains and stress , monsoons are perfect for a visit. Lot of monkeys all around the place. One definitely needs a personal vehicle to reach

A beautiful falls with water year round
Very close to ambasamudram, agasthiar falls is a beautiful place with water year round. The falls has water all 365 days as it is the seepage water from the dams like karaiyar, servalar dam located above.Has small eateries nearby .

So if your intention is just to spend under the showers, you should be here. It is not wonderful to watch (considering the size), but it is very pleasant for the bath. Located away from Tirunelveli centre, this places is utilized by the locals.

Small falls with enough water

It is a small falls with enough quantity of water to take bath. I heard that water will be available throughout the year in this falls and water has medicinal value. Overall an OK kind of falls. When we visited the falls is crowded.
There is decent bus connectivity between Tirunelveli and Papanasanam. However, from Papanasanam, we have to take auto to reach this place (They charge Rs.80/- one way, which I feel is high). Or you may have to catch a bus going towards Papanasanam dam (I heard there is 3 trips of govt. buses available only in the morning) and get down at a nearer stop and walk around 1 to 1.5 km to reach the falls.

Visit to Agasthiyar falls

A small and neat waterfalls near papanasam. This is within a reserved forest so entry is strict. Go early at around 6 am to beat the crowd. The place is fresh and there are quite a few small eat shops. Like all falls in Tamil Nadu this place is safe with a separate entry for women. Water force is pleasant. Enjoyable.

Wonderful falls near city
The water is so cool and medicinal if you bath in this falls no need to take oil bath. The agathiyar temple is so much famous
There,is,no need of soap .
