என்ன வைத்தோம்

என்னவைத்தோம்
பாவலர் கருமலைத்தமிழாழன்

முன்னோர்கள் தூய்மையாக வைத்தி ருந்த
---மூச்சிழுக்கும் காற்றினிலே நஞ்சை சேர்த்தோம்
முன்நின்று காற்றிலுள்ள அசுத்தம் நீக்கும்
---முதலுதவி மரங்களினை வெட்டிச் சாய்த்தோம்
பொன்கதிரை வடிகட்டி ஒளிய னுப்பும்
---பொற்கவச ஓசோனை ஓட்டை செய்தோம்
என்னவைத்தோம் சந்ததிக்கே தன்ன லத்தால்
---எல்லாமும் கலப்படத்தால் கெடுத்து வைத்தோம் !

ஆயிரமாம் ஆண்டுகளாய் சேர்த்து வைத்த
---அடிநீரைக் குழாய்வழியே காலி செய்தோம்
பாய்மரம்போய் கடல்நீரில் எண்ணெய் குண்டால்
---பரிதவிக்க மீன்களினைச் சாக டித்தோம்
தாய்மண்ணில் உரங்களினைப் போட்டுப் போட்டுத்
---தரும்விளைச்சல் எனஉறிஞ்சி சக்கை செய்தோம்
சேய்களுக்கே என்னவைத்தோம் தன்ன லத்தால்
---செழித்திருந்த இயற்கையினைக் கெடுத்து வைத்தோம் !

அறிவியலால் அணுக்குண்டை வெடிக்க வைத்தே
---அழிவிற்கே அறிவென்று பயிற்று வித்தோம்
நெறிகளினைக் குழிதோண்டிப் புதைத்து விட்டு
---நியாயத்தை அதர்மத்தில் அடக்கி வைத்தோம்
வெறியூட்டி சாதிமதம் பெருக்கு வித்தே
---விளைந்திருந்த மனிதநேயம் கருக வைத்தோம்
குறிக்கோளாய் இளைஞருக்கே என்ன வைத்தோம்
---குற்றுயிராய் வாழ்க்கையினை விட்டு வைத்தோம் !


WHAT WE’VE KEPT PRESERVED ?


What we’ve kept preserved for our heirs and lineage,
Except adding enough toxins in the breathing air
That was maintained by our forefathers as pure and unpolluted?

We’ve cut down enough green trees that prevent the impurities as First Aid
And cauled a great hole in the Ozone layer,
That used to filter the hot sun rays and radiations
And acted as a shield of protection !

We’ve done all evils only for our personal desires
By mixing and adulterating all without any restraint !

We’ve exhausted all thd ground waters through bore-wells
That were preserved by our ancestors for thousands of years!

We’ve causing the mass – death of fishes using the oil boats and ships
That mix up oils in sea water against the use of mast-boats and sailing ships;

We’ve sucked out all the energy of our Mother Earth
By using the chemicals and fertilizers in our fields !

What we’ve kept remain for our children or for our heirs
Except making the Nature spoilt for our selfish motives.

Attempted to make atom bombs and exploded with tacts and tricks
And make known our children, the Science and knowledge for mar and ruin;

We’ve buried all the morals and virtues
By storing the justice in the cell of injustice.

We’ve burnt all values of humanism by tempting and advocating
Fanaticism on race, religion, cast and creed !

What we’ve put remain as ideals for our youths
Except the difficult life in a critical condition at thd verge of death ?
