வானம் ஒரு போதி மரம்
-----------------------------------------
அன்றொரு நாள்
வீராப்புக்கள் தோற்றுப்போன
அந்த இராத்திரியில்
எனது சாளரத்தின் முகவரியறிந்த
வீரியமிக்க ஒரு நிலா
மேஜையிலிருக்கும் எழுதப்பட்டிருந்த
கவிதைத்தாளில் ஒளித்தீட்டியது.

On that weary night when I was meek
There peeped through my window
Milky Moon's Light to my poetry book
And crept onto my words of sorrow!

ஏமாற்றத்தின் மூளைச்சலவையில்
மூடநம்பிக்கைகளின் பிடியிலிறுகிய
மூர்க்கத்தனமிக்க சிந்தனையில்
நிலாவின் நேசகன்
நானே அன்று
ஏனோ சண்டையிட துணிந்தேன்.

Though I loved the Moon so much
So I thought to fight it out
That I were in grave clutch of grief
With my brain washed by false belief!

”வெட்கமற்ற நிலவே..
என் அனுமதியற்று
உள்நுழைந்த அவசரத்தில்
மரணச்செய்தி தாங்கிய
என் சொந்தத் தாளில்
உனக்கென்ன நாட்டாமை...?”

Asked I with that agony soon
Why the hell the Hasty Moon
Entered inside on its own
To probe my Death Will for fun!

வெகுண்ட கோபத்தில்
சாளரத்தை ஒங்கியடித்து மூடியப்போதும்
என் கதவிடுக்கில்
மெல்லியதாக மெளனக்கவிதை
எழுதிக்கொண்டிருந்த நிலாவெளிச்சம்..
எனக்கு எதுவோ ஒன்றை
சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தது...!

With anger shut were the window doors
Stayed there the moonlight in the gaps
Writing for me such a silent note
Telling something with a kind dote!

விடிந்த காலையில்
கதவுகளை உடைத்த
பலத்த காற்று
என் விழிகளை தட்டியது
துக்கம் சுமந்த தூக்ககலக்கத்தில்
அறையிலிருந்து வெளியேறிய
என் விழித்திரையில் ஒரு
தத்துவக் காட்சி...!

Then came the blowing wind at dawn
When I broke a sluggish sleep
Out from my world of misery
And I saw that scne of philosophy!

நிலவை மறந்த வானம்
சூரியனை கொஞ்சிக்கொண்டிருந்தது.

புரிந்தது..எனக்கு
எதுவும் நிரந்தரமல்ல
எங்கேயும் எப்போதும்...!!


Forgetting all moments with the Moon
The Sky was making love with the Sun!

I had a piece of thought with smile
That for me all are only for a while!
